Chiropractic for Seniors
As our bodies age, it becomes more and more important to stay healthy and active. While bones and muscles may weaken, it is still possible to be doing all of the things we love. Many senior citizens face chronic pain or other issues related to the body deteriorating over time. Chiropractic care has been to shown to have multiple benefits for the elderly, from increasing mobility of the spine which decreases nerve pressure, and allows optimal health and wellness.
Chiropractic care is especially important for maturing and elderly adults because of the dramatic changes that occur in the spine with increasing age. As we age, spinal discs, joints, ligaments, muscles and other spinal tissues become weaker, less hydrated, more fibrous, and less able to withstand normal strain. As a result, back pain from spinal degeneration (arthritis) becomes more prominent, soft tissues increase as the body is more vulnerable to injury.
